#Meta is partnering with South Korean startup #Panmnesia to develop a #ComputeExpressLink architecture designed to interconnect nearly 1,000 AI accelerators within a single coherent data center domain. The proposed system utilizes CXL technology to link CPUs, memory, and accelerators across multiple server racks, allowing one CPU to coordinate up to 16 accelerators – an eightfold increase over reference configurations like #Nvidia’s GB200 NVL72 – while reducing cross-rack communication latency to hundreds of nanoseconds. To overcome electrical signal distance limits, Panmnesia proposes optical CXL links supported by specialized fabric controllers and high-fan-out switches. This architecture matters because it enables massive clusters of AI graphics processors to operate collectively as a giant, unified chip.
