Building on UC San Diego’s Triton testbed and work described in Sam Crow’s dissertation “Bus Driver,” they examined communications between the Flight Management Computer and the Multi-Purpose Control Display Unit, showing that a device placed on a relevant internal data connection could interfere with messages to change certain flight-plan or takeoff-performance values and alter what appeared on one cockpit display. The attack requires prior access to an aircraft on the ground and the ability to install unauthorized hardware while avoiding detection, shifting the security focus toward ground access control, maintenance procedures, and post-maintenance inspection rather than an in-flight, internet-style compromise. The researchers disclosed the work to Boeing beginning in 2020 and demonstrated it in a Boeing facility test lab, while Boeing said layered protections limit real-world feasibility and risk, and no public record reviewed indicated use against an in-service aircraft or a real flight. The evidence supports a demonstrated possibility for the specific tested #737NG configuration, not proof that every 737 shares the same exposure or can be compromised via a single universal method.

Res. 1471, a proposed #Data Center Bill of Rights aimed at giving communities more control over where #data centers, including #AI data centers, can be built and how their impacts are disclosed. The resolution calls for bans on data centers in residential areas and within 2,500 feet of homes, schools, childcare facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes, plus local veto power shielded from state preemption, mandatory public impact reports on electricity demand and other local effects, water-use disclosure with semiannual reporting, labor standards, and subsidy clawbacks. However, it is a nonbinding House resolution referred to committees, it does not advance to the Senate or President and carries no legal force, but is positioned as a legislative blueprint for cities and states amid continued buildouts and local fights such as in New York and Nashville. The article argues the 2,500-foot buffer may be overly broad, potentially excluding much urban and suburban land and shifting the problem to rural areas, while noting @Sen. Bernie Sanders and @Rep.
